There was a time where my form of heresy would not be tolerated. The
church has special envoys that would place a person like me in a
dungeon. People from the inquisition would start to work on me. Of
course the whole thing would be bloodless because it was forbidden to
spill blood. They might disrupt my comfort by placing me on the
rack. Maybe they would try breaking me on the wheel. Of course thumb
screws have always been very effective. Then there was the Strapado.
They would tie my hands behind my back, raise me to a 20 foot height
with a rope that was tied to my arms. ( a bit painful since normal
joints were not meant to be bent this way) and then they would drop me
to where my fall would be stopped a couple of feet above the floor.
This would cause my sholder joints to pull out or my arms would be
broken. Probably by this point I would confess that my thoughts and
my ways were both heretic and sinfull. The church officials would
then take me to a stake which there were a lot of combustagles around
it. As a last act of mercy by the Catholic Church, they would let me
kiss the cross before they would garrot me before lighting the fire
and have by body turned into toast. But then, there were a lot of
innocent people that met this end just becaue the chruch wanted their
wealth.
