Here in the UK, at least some 'main stream' Christian leaders are 
pro-active in fostering better relations between those of different 
faiths.  It isn't unthinkable for Moslem Hindu Jewish and Christian clergy
to jointly lead memorial services after natural disasters or terrorist
atrocities, for example.  Despite inevitable misunderstanding and
confusion the Archbishop of Canterbury (spiritual leader of the Church of
England) has made 'pro-Islamic' speeches.

The longest-running 'soap opera' in the world is a BBC radio show called
"The Archers"; something of an 'institution'.  One of the current 
story-lines concerns the widowed vicar of Ambridge and the Hindu lawyer 
and their love-affair and planned wedding.
