the idea of a pre-mortal life

by biacq@[EMAIL PROTECTED] May 3, 2008 at 10:40 AM

I had a few questions on what I read in Gospel Principles on
page 11.

It says, "Man, as a spirit, was begotten and born of heavenly
parents, and reared to maturity in the eternal mansions of the
Father, prior to coming upon the earth in a tem****al [physical]
body."

I understand the part about born, but what does begotten as a
spirit mean? What does "reared to maturity" mean?

Then it says, "If we choose to do so, we can become perfect, just
as they are."

How did Heavenly Mother and Father become perfect?

Tony
