Others too have shaped and influenced the FLDS CHurch, so I would
not put it entirely on Smith's shoulders.

The legacy of the "restoration movement" is not solely attributable
to Joseph Smith.  The Seventh-day Adventists and Jehovah's Witnesses
are examples of this.

Blame it Satan's deception and not on Joseph Smith.

Many churches claim to be the only true church in the world today.

It has not been demonstrated that the marriage of the very young FLDS
virgins to the much older men was non-voluntary. From the D&C 132, I
see that the law of the priesthood allowed a man to marry 10 virgins
for example if he wanted to (was instructed to some would say).  If
all these virgins (let's say they were young), gave their consent,
then it would not be sinful in LDS theology at the time.
