I don't think that latter day saints look upon themselves, or anyone
else on this earth, as divine.

Seems like the proper way to phrase it would be that we possess
'divine potential'  After all, children do  have it within themselves,
to grow up and become like their parents, and if we are children of
Heavenly Parents, it would be hard to argue that we have the potential
to become like them, hence divine beings.

Please don't get the idea that anyone living in the church today,
considers themselves divine.
