No, but there are a lot of reason to believe it happened in the
Americas, including archeology and statements of Joseph Smith and
other prophets.  Of course if you want somewhere else as a setting, I
don't think Oz is a good candidate.  The place is mostly rather dry
and otherwise doesn't fit with the physical descriptions given in the
Book of Mormon.  Same for Palestine except that there are lots of
ruined cities there.  Plus if it happened in Palestine one would think
that some evidence would have been discovered by now, evidence they
had traded with some well-known group or some such.  Nor can I think
of any other good candidates at the moment if you exclude the
Americas.

(And to pick a nit, it was Moroni, not Nephi who buried the plates.)
