The price of wheat today is about 3 times what it was a year ago, but
it is still
an inexpensive food, and easy to obtain commercially, as are other
foods
that store well such as beans.
Do you believe prophet Benson was speaking prophetically when he said,
"The
revelation to produce and store food may be as essential to our
tem****al
welfare today as boarding the ark was to the people in the days of
Noah"?
(October 1987 Conference)
There are two parts to prophet Benson's statement:
1- produce food.
2- store food.
Aside from a few members in each ward, are the saints today
producing any food to speak of?
It's not too late to buy rice and beans. And it's not too late
to grow a garden, even if it's only a pot on the ****ch.
As I read the writings of financial analysts, there are many
who are predicting soonly the utter undoing of the world financial
system. Some go so far as to predict that farmers will be
able to trade a bucket of wheat for a grand piano, or a
bottle of wine for an automobile. Perhaps prophet Benson
also believed that food would become more valuable than
cash.
Love,
Absalom
