What are the significant marks of apostasy in Judaism?
Since the gospel was, in the MSOT, revealed to Adam and entrusted to
ancient prophets, why is there so little evidence of specifically
Mormon doctrine in the OT? Why do all the beliefs here

seem so consistent with the OT and not with Mormonism?
There's a sense in which not only is it difficult to find Mormon
peoples anywhere in the new world, it's also darned troublesome
identifying the Mormon gospel in the OT, without having to wade
through reams of what Mormonism can only think of as rank apostasy.
In the literature of restoration (post-exilic) Israel, I'm not sure
what the balance of apostate to Mormon theological emphases might be,
but I dare say these supposed restorations of the people to their land
by a supposedly faithful God turn out to be, on closer inspection from
a Mormon POV, sad delusions of apostates who haven't found their way
home, spiritually, at all.
I mean, seriously. Orthodox Christian theology certainly has issues to
dialog with Jews on, inasmuch as we pose a very different
understanding of things on either side of the divide over Christ. But
Mormons have a very different issue, since ancient Judaism is supposed
to have been so very like Christianity -- just without him present. I
mean, down to a "gospel" being present in the faith of the ancients.
Frankly, even the Mosaic covenant is utterly bereft of any clues about
this gospel. So was Moses also in the throes of apostasy, cluelessly
channeling fragmented notions of divine intention on Sinai?
