American Idol

by Amicus@[EMAIL PROTECTED] (David / Amicus) Feb 28, 2008 at 05:34 AM

One of the contestants this season is 17yo LDS David Archuleta from
Utah.

Last night on the show he sang the John Lennon song "Imagine" only doing
the third verse.

The first verse is the godlees "Imagine there's no Heaven". I'm glad
that he did not sing it. Bravo for the lad! I've never liked the song!

One of the judges, Randy Jackson, asked him why he did not sing the
first verse and David told him that there was time to sing only one
verse and that he liked the third one.

But knowing that he's LDS I'm guessing that he took the moral high
ground in refusing to do the first verse!

If he were to ultimately win I think the show puts them under a contract
but I wonder how that would work out with his missionary aspirations?

I fondly remember the old Donny & Marie show where they sang "Jeremiah
was a Bullfrog" and they substituted "milk" for "wine" in the lyrics!
;-)))
