Thats a big part of it. But not all of it. The elders actually explain
the other churches have part of the truth - they just lack the
authority. But a significant part of it does teach of Jesus Christ and
the whole Plan of Salvation. We actually do work with non-Christian
people who do not believe in Christ.

No the success hinges on one point - that Joseph Smith is a prophet
and that the Book of Mormon is true. It starts there not with the
apostasy. And we don't believe we persuade people. The spirit does the
teaching. We actually ask people to pray about what we teach. I can't
count the times I said "don't believe me, go ask God".

Well just as an example from my mission, pastor Bob in BC had a weekly
radio show. The elders in this small town "stole" away one of his
members and baptized him (he later served a mission and I heard he is
married in the temple). well good old pastor bob had a few things to
say about Mormons on his show. Many which were plain old lies that
many people picked up on quickly (some people in his congregation were
not happy about it-they didn't feel it was very Christian of him to do
it).
Thats just one example, doing a search on Google will pull MANY
churches websites that actually have stuff about the Mormon church.

I will just say this if I had a dollar (US dollar not Canadian) for
every time someone told me "My Pastor said..." while I was on my
mission. I would be dining with Bill Gates and Warren Buffet.
