Listening to the Radio on Sunday

by Amicus@[EMAIL PROTECTED] (David / Amicus) Feb 5, 2008 at 05:27 AM

I know the church discourages watching tv on Sundays but what about
listening to the radio.

***********

On Sunday afternoons I usually listen to the David Gold radio talk show
out of the San Francisco Bay area if I can pick it up.

It's a conservative political show. And lately discussion of course of
the different presidential candidates has been a hot topic.

A couple of weeks ago a guest on the show was some woman (I forget her
name) but she was an ex Mormon who was telling why people should not
vote for Mitt. Blah, blah, blah!

For equal time on the latest Sunday show he had Oscar MaConkie on as a
guest. He's the president (I think) of the LDS San Jose, Calif mission.

The typical questions were asked. And one was about blacks and the
priesthood and wasn't the church guilty of racism.

I thought that Mr McConkie gave one of the best answers I've heard on
it. In fact I don't remember ever hearing such a response like it
before.

He brought up that in the OT only the tribe of Levi could be priests to
the exclusion of all others. Was that racist? No!

And in the same way until 1978 the exclusion of certain people was not
racist either!

I thought that was a good answer to a difficult question!
