I have been thinking about how non-members feel around us because we don't
use coffee, tea, alchohol, etc. I've often had this fear that they might
feel we are judging them for using these things. The more I thought about
it the more I realized that I don't and never have because I've always
believed that they don't have the law so are not being judged by that law.
These are commandments we agreed to live by when we are baptized. Yes,
there are greater blessings for taking on those covenants and also greater
punishment for violating them. Blessings and punishments not extended to
those not under the baptismal covenant.
This brought me to the question of what laws everyone is subject to
regardless of church member****p. I realize everyone has available to them
the spirit of Christ to act as a conscience so I'm assuming when anyone
acts
contrary to that prompting that, in essence, is sin. So are the Ten
Commandments, for example, laws for everyone regardless of baptism?
Thought this was a good topic for discussion on this forum.
Thanks
