Did Umar (RA) forbid female slaves from covering their chests? [As

Assalamualaikum brothers and sisters,
                                                        Im new to
Usenet groups and I have come here to ask a question which I hope a
more knowledgeable brother/sister can answer for me.

Hamza Yusuf claims that Umar (RA) forbade female slaves from covering
their chests in Madina:

[1 minute 20 seconds]

where he says "In traditional Islam in Madina there were women walking
around bear-breasted. And that is a fact - a historical fact. And you
can read it and look it up in the books. Sayyadina Umar (RA) did not
allow the Ima to wear the hijab. He did not allow them to wear the
hijab. So there were uncovered women in Madina. That is a fact.
Historical fact. Muslims should get out of this obsession with women."

I read in another forum that the awrah of a slave woman is the same as
that of a man. Is this true?

Thanks

Regards
