Why would you conclude such a thing? Yes, "Christos" is Greek.
Jewish believers rarely refer to themselves as "Christian" but rather
"Messianic," using the Hebrew form of "anointed." But essentially
they are one and the same thing. It was to the Jews that the Messiah
was specifically promised through the line of David. The Abrahamic,
Davidic and New covenants were specifically promised to Israel and it
is in these covenants that Israel finds its Messianic hope.

Not Messianic Jews. Also, none of the Apostles rescinded their Jewish
heritage. In point of fact, Paul clearly remains steadfastly a
Hebrew. I feel you either have an axe to grind or a very poor
understanding of the situation.

Your presuppositional slip is showing dear. Why, please be clear on
this, would it be necessary for a Jewish believer to give up his
distinct heritage? Your presuppositional slip is that you hold to
some sort of replacement theology. This means that you hold to a non-
biblical view of the definitive and unconditional nature of the
Abrahamic, Palestinian, Davidic and New Covenants when in the context
of those passages dealing directly with the giving of these promises
God repeatedly states that the only condition of any of them is His
own faithfulness. Perhaps I should start a thread explaining these
things.

Well, again, I think you need to revisit the presumptions that make up
this world view you are espousing. There is SO MUCH that I could
write concerning this from a purely biblical exegetical response.
Simply, the Church did not inherit all of Israel's promises let alone
replace the elective nature of Israel. They are two distinct
entities. Perhaps what I began to post on another NG I should bring
over here in the hope that some understanding might be gained.
