Okay, another question about 2 Chronicles. :)
This time I am in chapter 29. Hezekiah takes over for his wicked father
Ahaz. Ahaz had closed the temple, H. opens it back up again.
The Levites clean it, purify it, and H. joins them to make sacrifices at
the
altar.
Order of the sacrifices:
1. Bulls
2. Rams
3. Lambs
4. Goats
Okay. Why in that order? My MERE SPECULATION is that each animal
represented a ****tion of Hebrew society: Royalty, Priesthood, Citizenry,
and
Foreigners.
I think the NIV only refers to the "goats" as a sin offering, but am not
sure if the others were, too.
thanks, fellow Bible students, for your thoughts!!
