And how many angels can dance on a pin head? The scriptures are
clear that man is dead to God. The elect were chosen before anything
came into existence outside of God. Sometime during the elects
life here on earth, the Father draws him and the Spirit operates on
regenerating his new inclination. That new inclination is what is
refered
to as regeneration. It is the "new man" of Paul that now has the
correct disposition, that of desiring correctly to please God. But
as Rom 7 illustrates, it has no power in and of itself. Thus the
regenerated man is imputed with the gift of faith. This enlightens
him must as when a man first falls in love with a woman. It is
not an act of the will. It is a forced consent of the new being.
You are arguing over trivial matters. In that we are secured
in our calling and our election -because then rest in God's
mercy and power and not our imagination or merits- we are
for all purposes, immortal from birth. Some go off to live
eternally in torment while others to eternal bliss in the
presence of God. Christ in Jn 17 declares, however, that
eternal life is not so much about longevity as it is about
the qualified life of knowing God personally. And so with
that distinction, eternal life of the qualified essense, does
not have the potential of occurring until after one embarks
on a personal relation****p with his Father and Savior by
means of the Spirit.
