Au contraire! I'm very happy. I have a very happy marriage with a
woman I adore and respect. I have two wonderful kids that call and
check up on me. I have three wonderful grandchildren that know that
they are loved by their grandparents. I have good friends from
college that still stay in touch. I have my former students that stay
in touch. I have a job where I make over very good money doing
something I really like. The only thing that makes me sad is the mess
that Bush has made of my country, but he will soon be a footnote as
the worst President in US history and the nation will get itself back
on track. Things are very good for me right now, Carl, but thank you
for being concerned.

JERRY
Am I making insulting personal attacks on you, Carl? I thought I was
asking you questions regarding the text of the bible, something that
you, as a Christian, should be able to answer. Rather, I note that
you accuse me of lying but never will respond with where I lied to
you. Actually, I should feel like I am the victim here with the way
you have behaved.

JERRY
Excusez moi. You are posting in multiple Usenet discussion groups.
You are putting your speakers corner hat on and dumping other people's
opinions and thoughts out on everyone else reading as if they were
relevant to all and you feel insulted when someone who disagrees with
you responds. You call them names. You behave in general like a
small child who can't have everything the way he wants.

This is life on Usenet. Get over it.

JERRY
Which isn't at all true since the bible isn't the word of any deity.
The book is historically inaccurate, the books in it contradict each
other on the same subject and it fails on prophecy. If this is the
"word" of a god, he's a pretty incompetent, weak and irrelevant god,
Carl. Therefore, your insult by proxy matters not at all. I don't
care that you consider me a fool, either, since you are incapable of
answering reasonable questions on the text of the bible itself, though
you set yourself up to minister to usenet via the words of other
people.

JERRY
Given that Wesley was a superstitious fool that believed as you do (or
why would you post his words instead of your own?) isn't much of a
recommendation, Carl.

Is that the best you can do?

JERRY
See? He starts off making the same incorrect assumptions that you and
other Christians do, Carl. He assumes that there is no happiness
unless I'm caught up in superstition.

Au contraire. I have a very good life, and when I have a problem, I
find ways to work it out myself. And if I can't solve it, it's no
worse than someone who prays to god to fix their problem and doesn't
get it.

<snipped the rest as it's a bunch of self-serving nonsense based upon
untrue assumptions>
