what if believe is product of a taming?  Imagine that parents and
relatives, as well as acquaintances, are conspiring together to make a
child believe this or that.  This can be called a choose but a
domestication of the mind.

And what about atheists?  Well atheist are not necessarily tamed but
raised free of any artificial superstition.
You teach your child to stem off the arguments of any theists, in a
cased, or you teach him to hide and keep a low profile to save the
child any harassments.
Other atheists, most of them, are product of fanatical Christian
families that were playing rough on their kids to make them good
xians.  One day, this children explode and after reaching eighteen or
nineteen, they run away and desert their fanatical families.
In this late case there is not involved any choice, it is simple a
fleeing away the bastard parents.
