Yes,. like better medicines, longer lifespans, better quality of life
(compare our quality of life to countries that are more religious,
like Iran and Afghanistan and Pakistan and... well, you get the
idea.), better educations. Those are some of the effects.

JERRY
No, actually we had those back when we were a more religious country
than we are now. The US went through a religious renaissance in the
1950's. That's when "under God" was added to the pledge of
allegiance, and when "In God We Trust" was added to all the money.
That was also when we had laws forbidding inter-racial marriages, we
had lynchings, more hatred based on class and race than we do now. Oh
yes, and we had crime, we had deaths from back-alley abortions, we had
all of that stuff. You really should learn some history if you think
you want to talk about it in any manner.
And, you need to learn some science before you start talking about
"scientific nonsense and junk science." That same "junk science" that
gave you evolution is also the same junk science that gave you
electricity, computers, cars, electric light, penicillin, etc.

JERRY
No, it's simpler than that. People who are too stupid to learn
science because they want to cling to superstition (such as yourself)
are trying to badmouth the people who do REAL science simply because
they don't understand it.
Now, if you grow a brain, learn some science and figure out how to
argue it logically, you can get a bit of respect in your discussions.
