It is the Evolutionary scientists who have to explain millions of
years. Just throwing out mathematical statistics may give them a sense
that it is  correct, but if it is just an extension from the present
it may not have validity.
I just can't see how millions of years can be proven by repeatable,
scientific experiments that are done in the present.
