My wife and I were part of the crowd in Hyde Park, Sydney, in 1993
whenm there were massive protests about the possibility of us getting
involved in Iraq.
While we were waiting to join the long procession a number of songs
were broadcast over the PA system - in among announcements.
One of these had two memorable lines:
I want a world where children are taught
that one Iraqi child is worth a US astronaut.
There was so much applause that we couldn't hear the rest of that
verse.
Most peole had in mind the massive media attention to what happened
when one of the Space Shuttles blew up, and only seven astronauts were
killed.
This must have been written fairly close to then, and should count as
a 2002/2003 protest song.
