"Kill those who leave Islam", taught in Australia!

by **Rowland Croucher** <rccroucher@[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Apr 22, 2008 at 04:49 PM

Passed on by a friend.

Please excuse poor formatting... this email has been doing the rounds...

Any comments? (For example, I have a theory that some who may not be as
extreme as this teacher were afraid to declare themselves)...

*****

On the weekend of the 19th & 20th of April, 1980 I attended a two day
intensive Islamic lecture series titled 'Dawah Power!'. The event was
hosted by two organizations; the 'Alkauthar Institute' www.alkauthar.org
in conjunction with 'Mercy Mission' http://www.mercymission.org.au

The venue was SYDNEY: University of Western Sydney, Milperra, Building
23, Main Theatre.

The lecturer was a Sudanese gentleman who now resides in the US named
'Kemal El Mekki'.

There were in attendance approximately 150 Muslims consisting of about
60 women and 90 men.

The aim of the lecture material 'training in Dawah' was to teach Muslims
how to be successful bringing a non-Muslim to the point where he or she
would submit to Islam by obeying its teachings and become a practicing
Muslim.

On the afternoon of the second day and working from page 46 of the
handout
notes, we were asked to suggest to the lecturer "What kind of analogies
could you use to explain" the following Islamic teachings:

"3. Why the apostate is killed?

    4. Why the hand of the thief is cut off?"

During the course of the discussion that followed the raising of
these two
points there was not one dissenting voice throughout the entire room.

On the contrary there was hearty agreement from all present that the
one
who
leaves Islam after becoming a Muslim; must be killed and the thief must
have
as a just punishment the removal of his or her hand. The lecturer
'Kamel
El
Mekki' reinforced the rightness of these core Islamic beliefs not only
by
appealing to Islamic text but also by arguing how sensible, practical
and
just these Islamic punishments were. He elaborated at length and in
copious
detail the wisdom of these teachings.

You may be asking in your mind at this point whether he gave any
disclaimer
while insisting of the virtue of these two core Islamic commands. The
answer
is he told the room, that of course the killing of the apostate could
not
just be done by anyone, it "had to be done correctly" . He proceeded to
give
examples of Muslims who wrongly thought that they could administer
these
punishments personally which he made clear they could not. So, all up,
it
was plainly communicated to all present that apostates must be killed
and
the thief's hand cut off providing the correct Islamic procedures were
followed in accordance with Islamic law. One of the examples he gave
was
how
things are done in Saudi Arabia; this supposedly being a positive
example.
So, those who were wondering about whether there was a disclaimer
included
with killing you if you leave Islam, having once embraced Muhammad's
system,
will now be relieved by the knowledge that you will be put to death
correctly! This reminds me of a friend who was a Muslim but has now
left
Islam. He told me he was at home with his mum on day why the beheading
of
a
hostage was shown on TV. His mum was not a Muslim and was disgusted
with
the
sight of Muslims proceeding to cut the head off of their hostage in the
name
of Allah. He was also appalled at the sight and exclaimed to his mum
" No!
   No! No! That's not the way you cut a head off according to Islam;
they are
cutting the wrong way!!" Suffice to say, his mum was not relieved by
his
   clarification.

To be fair I will add that of course during the two days of lectures
'Kamel
El Makki' discussed many things that were not negative or potentially
unhealthy for our society. He was an interesting speaker with a good
sense
of humour and would criticise the Islamic community when he thought it
necessary. This in itself was refreshing for this writer as he has
found
generally there is not too much self-criticism going on in the Islamic
community. Kamel El Makki is an excellent communicator who fills his
lectures with example and illustrations to establish his points. The
writer
has a firm commitment in allowing everyone to have whatever personal
religious belief he or she wishes. The writer does however have a
problem
with ideas that are demonstrably hostile to Western Liberties which
include
'religious liberty' which is why I am focusing especially on the
Apostasy
point above. Killing of the Apostate is not compatible with the hard
fought
for freedoms that I have grown up with and enjoyed during my life in
Australia of which I seek to keep intact for all men and women who
would
grow up in this wonderful land after me. So, this is not an attack on
Kamel
El Makki or Muslims but squarely has its crosshair centered on the
above
   mentioned evils.

   Some questions:

   A. Should we be allowing our Public Funded institutions (University of
Western Sydney) to be used by Islamic groups teaching such profane
   principles?

   B. Will the propagation of such teaching within our society build for a
secure future and leave something good for our children and their
children?

   C. Have we really had the debate within the Australian community about
whether Islam as a Ideological\political system presently being
encouraged
by our Governments to grow in this land is wise policy?

   Dawah Power http://www.alkauthar.org/images/spacer.gif

   Imagine this, you're in a store and a non-Muslim tells you they're
   interested in Islam:

   *	Can you present it in a way that will convince them to accept Islam
   right then and there?
   *	Your child, relative or student is not praying or is doing something
that is haram. How can you change their behavior?
   *	An atheist challenges you to prove the existence of God, how long
   will it take you?
   *	Can you prove to anyone in the world, beyond the shadow of a doubt
that Muhammad was a genuine prophet?
   *	Someone believes in God but not in life after death, how can you
convince them that there is a resurrection in a few sentences?

How many people would you like to show up on your scale of good deeds
on
the
Day of Judgement because you brought them and their families into
Islam?

All this and more is what you will learn in Dawah Power!

This course does NOT aim to spoon-feed you with what to say when giving
dawah, but rather to provide you the tools with which you can develop
and
formulate your own methods based on the individual or the situation at
hand.
There will be many exercises, scenarios, examples and discussion
points.
The
course also covers how to approach people, start a conversation, and
present
advice. The information presented will even benefit you in everyday
things
such as getting people to answer your messages, solving problems
between
married couples or getting the best deal when buying a car. We will
also
examine the dawah methods of the prophet and the rules of dawah
established
   by Islamic scholars.

What will you come out with at the end of the course?

   *	An understanding of human nature and human behavior.
   *	The tools with which to prove the veracity of Islam.
   *	The ability to bring people into Islam in minutes.
   *	The ability to tailor your talk based on the person you are
   addressing.
   *	Many practical examples of how to approach people and present
   concepts.
   *	Knowing the quick and efficient ways of refuting or explaining a
   misconception.
   *	The confidence need to approach people.
   *	The key ingredients to changing people's behavior.
   *	The Ability to read into what people are really telling you.
   *	The golden rules of Dawah!

In this workshop you will learn:

   *	How to approach people
   *	How to understand who you're talking to within a few seconds.
   *	How to understand issues and obstacles.
   *	How to refute arguments
   *	How to explain concepts in the best manner.
   *	How to get the shahadah!

   Who is this course for?

   *	Every Muslim who wants to come on the Day of Judgment with a
multitude of people they have brought into Islam.
   *	Teachers who would like to see positive change in their students.
   *	Parents who want a better relationship with their children.
   *	University or High school students involved in calling to Islam.
   *	All brothers and sisters who want to pursue their duty of spreading
the light of Islam through Dawah.
   *	Anyone who wants to become a better communicator.

Why should you enroll now? Look at these quotes from those who have
attended only one section of this seminar:

".one of the most remarkable, and effective classes I have ever taken.
In
fact, I have used the techniques with success for 3 shahadas... and if
I
can
do it, I promise you anyone can! I can also tell you that I had no
success
prior to that in giving personal dawah for the previous 10 years. I
never
made the 'sale'... what does that mean? You'll learn about this and
more
at
the class!" [Brother who attended the workshop in Houston Texas]

"MashaAllah, MashaAllah, MashaAllah... what can I say. That seminar was
AMAZING! There's just something about the way he presents the
information
and gives you all these real life scenarios that build up that
confidence
and make you just want to go out and give dawah to the world, without
any
fear of ridicule in your heart." [Brother commenting on an online
forum]

"I have to admit I was kind of skeptical simply because he made giving
dawah
seem so easy but in actuality Br. Kamal's techniques really worked
well.and
by the way we got one shahada as well ."[Sister in NJ commenting on
field
training the day after the workshop]

".I learned how to approach people, respond to certain questions, and
ALWAYS
GO FOR THE GOLD. Today one brother, brother (name removed) seemed
reluctant
at first but then came around eventually and took the shahaadah."
[Brother
in NJ commenting on field training next day after the workshop]

"Thank you for the class and the experience, the notes were excellent
and
helped me out a lot. I had used the "techniques" of giving Shahada to
my
friend the next day and he had accepted Islam. I had used most of your
examples (Mashallah they were great).. He is now learning more about
Islam
and has actually a higher level dean than some other muslims brothers I
know." [A 15-year old who attended the workshop]

". your tapes helped us give a shahadah, and we hadn't even heard all
of
it!" [Brother in the UK who got a shahadah after listening to only
half of
   the workshop]

"Immediately following the presentation video, and within 5 min., we
made
few quick points, hands were raised, one point, after the other, then
we
asked all the people that consistently raised their hands every time.to
take
the Shahada. About half of the people accepted to stand, took the
Shahada,
including the wife of the Minister!" [A brother in CA who gave a
presentation at a church the day after the workshop]

These were quotes from those who only attended the part of the workshop
that
deals with calling non-Muslims to Islam - at AlKauthar you will get
this
and
much much more! In the Dawah Power course you will study the fiqh of
dawah
of dealing with Musims and non-Muslims alike. As you can see from the
comments from all over North America it is simply a course for
everyone.
