ELEVENTH JUDGEMENT
ELEVEN 28 If an ox gore a man or a woman, that they die: then the ox
shall be surely stoned, and his flesh shall not be eaten; but the
owner of the ox shall be quit.
29 But if the ox were wont to push with his horn in time past, and it
hath been testified to his owner, and he hath not kept him in, but
that he hath killed a man or a woman; the ox shall be stoned, and his
owner also shall be put to death.
30 If there be laid on him a sum of money, then he shall give for the
ransom of his life whatsoever is laid upon him.
31 Whether he have gored a son, or have gored a daughter, according to
this judgment shall it be done unto him.
My comments:
The meat from a =93killer=94 bull is not to be eaten. The animal is to be
stoned, not properly bled as is an animal we eat. This killer bull
has no flesh we eat, and has no blood poured out. The opposite is
true of Christ whose blood we (symbolically) drink and whose flesh we
(symbolically) eat at the Passover service. Christ is no dangerous
killer =96 he is not a =93wild beast=94 like Herod or Pharoah =96 rulers
who=
were known to murder innocent people.
The owner of the ox does not have any blame unless he has been
informed before that the animal was dangerous, and he did not take
measures to ensure it couldn`t get out. If he deliberately let a
dangerous animal run loose and it kills someone, then he is guilty of
murder. This would also apply to a dog or other animal which could
kill a human being.
The maximum penalty which can be applied to the owner of a dangerous
animal who knowingly let it run loose is death. But the family of the
dead person can be merciful if they choose =96 they can allow him to buy
back his life for a =93ransom=94 =96 for whatever sum of money is
recommended.
It takes God to redeem our souls from the grave:
Psalm 49:6 =B6 They that trust in their wealth, and boast themselves in
the multitude of their riches;
7 None of them can by any means redeem his brother, nor give to God a
ransom for him:
8 (For the redemption of their soul is precious, and it ceaseth for
ever:)
9 That he should still live for ever, and not see corruption.
13 This their way is their folly: yet their posterity approve their
sayings. Selah.
14 Like sheep they are laid in the grave; death shall feed on them;
and the upright shall have dominion over them in the morning; and
their beauty shall consume in the grave from their dwelling.
15 =B6 But God will redeem my soul from the power of the grave: for he
shall receive me. Selah.
When Israel left Egypt, the Levites were able to redeem the firstborn,
and take their place.
