JUDGEMENT 3
THE MAXIMUM PENALTY FOR MURDER IS DEATH
Ex 21:12:
He that smiteth a man, so that he die, shall be surely put to death.
(13) And if a man lie not in wait, but God deliver him into his hand;
then I will appoint thee a place whither he shall flee. (14) but if a
man come presumptuously upon his neighbour, to slay him with guild;
thou shalt take him from mine altar, that he may die.
My comments: A person who deliberately and wilfully plans to kill
another person, and carries out his scheme is to be put to death.
Even if he is by God`s own altar, that will not protect him.
King David, a geniunely converted man, committed this crime of murder
Through weakness - and bitterly regretted it and repented. Yet, even
though
God had promised him great blessings, that did not prevent him from
receiving
Punishment from God. David will be glad to be a doorkeeper and a king
in God`s
kingdom, rather than not being there at all.
