JOEL 2:1 =B6 Blow ye the trumpet in Zion, and sound an alarm in my holy
mountain: let all the inhabitants of the land tremble: for the day of
the LORD cometh, for it is nigh at hand;
2 A day of darkness and of gloominess, a day of clouds and of thick
darkness, as the morning spread upon the mountains: a great people and
a strong; there hath not been ever the like, neither shall be any more
after it, even to the years of many generations.
3 A fire devoureth before them; and behind them a flame burneth: the
land is as the garden of Eden before them, and behind them a desolate
wilderness; yea, and nothing shall escape them.
4 The appearance of them is as the appearance of horses; and as

5 Like the noise of chariots on the tops of mountains shall they
leap, like the noise of a flame of fire that devoureth the stubble, as
a strong people set in battle array.
6 Before their face the people shall be much pained: all faces shall
gather blackness.
7 They shall run like mighty men; they shall climb the wall like men
of war; and they shall march every one on his ways, and they shall not
break their ranks:
8 Neither shall one thrust another; they shall walk every one in his
path: and when they fall upon the sword, they shall not be wounded.
9 They shall run to and fro in the city; they shall run upon the
wall, they shall climb up upon the houses; they shall enter in at the
windows like a thief.
10 The earth shall quake before them; the heavens shall tremble: the
sun and the moon shall be dark, and the stars shall withdraw their
shining:
11 And the LORD shall utter his voice before his army: for his camp
is very great: for he is strong that executeth his word: for the day
of the LORD is great and very terrible; and who can abide it?
Notice this army do things "LIKE men of war" - they are not actually
called "men of war". They are like soldiers. They have tremendous
power to run like top-rate athletes. They can climb walls LIKE men of
war. They keep their formation as though they were computerised to
stay together in rank. Their ranks stay perfect throughout their
procedures. They have a prescribed path, never hurt each other and
are not wounded by weapons of war (swords). They navigate a city, run
upon the wall, climb up upon houses, entering through the windows.
China, the USA, and other countries are planning to build "robotic
armies":

The Pentagon is spending =A370 billion [$130 billion] on a programme to
build heavily-armed robots for the battlefield in the hope that future
wars will be fought without the loss of its soldiers' lives.
The scheme, known as Future Combat Systems, is the largest military
contract in American history and will help to drive the defence budget
up by almost 20 per cent to just over =A3265 billion [$500 billion] in
five years' time.
Much of the cash will be spent computerising the military, but the
ultimate aim is to take members of the armed forces out of harm's way.
They would be replaced by robots capable of hunting and killing
America's enemies.

Gordon Johnson, of the US joint forces research centre, told the New
York Times: "The American military will have these kinds of robots.
It's not a question of 'if', it's a question of 'when'."
The American military is already planning units of about 2,000 men and
150 robots, among them land-based "infantry" devices and drone
aircraft.
In the far future it is hoped that the miniaturised robots will walk
like humans, or hover like some birds. Others may look like insects.
Scientists say that, working at full tilt, the process is likely to
take at least 20 years.
