and what do you think then is the genealogy of the concept -- 'having
sin by default' / being imputed with sin from birth ?

i am not sure which defiition of 'sin' you use ;
the 'separation from God' sounds like the [layman's] Catholic
definition

The Ta****h speaks of `chet`
The NT speaks of `amartia`
Then there is the torah observant `nomos` definition simply as
`anomos`

Then of course there is the etymology of the word 'sin' in english.
