Gospel and Theology
A very im****tant truth is that the whole Assembly of God is
baptized with the Holy Spirit, but as far as I know, this truth has
never been preached in the churches. They have only partially
preached and accepted the truth of the baptism with the Holy Spirit
in the Pentecostal Movement and other churches. Therefore, their
preaching is very unclear regarding the connection between the
new birth and the baptism with the Holy Spirit.
Surely many Christians wonder why they are not baptized with
the Holy Spirit though they have been saved many years ago.
To understand this, we must separate between the gospel of God
and theology. The gospel of God is the direct contrary of the
theology. The theology is a human attempt to understand
God and spiritual things, but the gospel does go to the other
direction. God's gospel is God's personal message to us.
Do you want to get knowledge of something in the Bible, as the
baptism in water, the new birth, or the baptism in the Holy Spirit?
Then it is not a theologian you must consult, but you must consult
our Master, Jesus Christ. He does not teach theologies, but he
gives us gospel. He proclaims his will by the Holy Spirit and the
Bible.
Jesus said that the Spirit of truth would guide us into all truth.
John 16:13-15. And still today the Holy Spirit continues with
that. No one of us is learned enough yet, and we are all the times
depend upon the Holy Spirit. To the same extend that we give
ourselves over to him and want to obey him, he gives us his light
over God's word, and he will guide us into all truth.
"Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any
private interpretation. For the prophecy came not in old time by
the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved
by the Holy Ghost." 2 Peter 1:20-21.
Some Christians think that they have the whole gospel, and that
they lack nothing of the truths of the Bible in their preaching.
Nevertheless, such an attitude is dangerous and leads to stagnation
and retrogression in their spiritual life. Please, compare
Rev. 3:14-22. Only those who are thirsty come to Jesus
and drink of the living water. John 7:37-39.
