If you didn't read UK Yahoo/Business, then you don't know that
a pharmaceutical lab got bailed out of a TON of financial trouble, by an
American investor, who picked up a 30mil loan from Royal Bank of
Scotland. The
RBS renigged on the loan beause the AnimalRightsActivists harassed them
into it,
and they ran scared, and wanted OUT. Waaaaaah, we're afraid of the
activists! In
the 11th hour (they were literally hours away from bankruptcy) Tony Blair
stepped
in and defended them and said (and man was it funny!)) a quote that
basically said
(paraphrased here of course) "The UK sucks at everything else, compared to
the
rest of the world. The only thing we are any good at is science. If this
lab
shuts down, then the pharmaceuticals will be next, and we will be the
economic
laughing stock of the world. We can't let the ARAs do that to our country.
Save
the company." What a pathetic riot that country is.So anyway, there was a
lab-ba****ng article in the UK Snob Daily (or whatever) the next morning
where the author booed the lab (CRUEL! VISCIOUS! SUFFERING ANIMALS! BLOOD
SHED! NAZIs!) but then (since the fox hunt thing is big there as an
issue) went on to
say that fox hunting is OK for 2 reasons:
1) it is a NATURAL!!!! death for the fox.... it's how Mother Nature meant
the
foxes to die, after all. *right by men running around killing it, instead
of in its sleep Frantically chased for hours by dogs until they pass
out from exhaustion, and then gored to death, I guess is how M.N. meant it
to be.
2) And I LOVE this part! It is a time-honored age-old British tradition,
steeped
in history, began by lords and other elite. It is the definition of
British
culture. If it is abolished, then they lose their precious traditions.
BBBWWWWWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAAAAA!!!!!!!
The ARAs who harassed the Bank of Scots to death have now of course turned
their
attention to other financiers, who happen to be a huge "financial
investors
group" (whatever that means) in Arkansas, called Stephens group. So they
send
them this email that basically says "We will GIT YOU NEXT. We're COMIN' TO
AMERICA and we'll break you, too, just like we broke Bank of Scots. How
could
you be so cruel to sup****t keeping animals in cages? We're coming after
you."
And THIS is why I just LOVE America, esp the south I
was forwarded a copy of Stephens reply email, so this is absolutely TRUE,
I am
NOT making this up. I swear. Here is what the response said, and this is
almost
word for word:
Dear Sirs,
Not only do we enjoy keeping animals in cages, but our lobby and foyers
here are
littered with stuffed carc***** of big game we killed either to eat, or
just for
the s****t of it. I'll be glad to send pictures. Cheers....
I SWEAR, that was their real answer! I never thought I'd live to see the
day
where I (for 10 seconds) admired Southern blow-em-up hunters.
This entire saga is WAY too much to write here, but there's much more.
It's
surreal. If they don't kill me first, I'm gonna write a book about it
someday.
