Theological anachronism
Public Forum Letter

Fred Brady's letter taking Tribune religion writer Peggy Fletcher
Stack to task for noting that the next LDS apostle won't be a woman is
a perfect example of the Utah Mormon world view ("All male apostles,"
Forum, April 10). They think they are the only ones around.
It obviously never occurred to him that Stack was writing to a
broader audience besides Mormons. As fantastic as the idea may sound,
there are people in the world who aren't aware that women can't hold
the priesthood in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and
thus an apostle will never be a woman. A good re****ter includes the
context of events in her or his writing.
Brady should examine his own defensiveness about Mormon doctrine.
It sounds to me that he'd just as soon this theological anachronism be
kept quiet.
