So, how did the meet go, Lance? How many people attended?
Did the minister make any remarks or did he just roll the
film? Did you arrive on time or were you late?

When you invite people to a meeting with the words "join
us", you are implying that you're going to be there, so
when you demonstrate you didn't even know what state this
was in, it erodes your basis to critique anybody else on
their work hours or whether they do their job competently.
