Verdict eludes jurors in castration trial

LILLINGTON — Jurors in the Lillington castration trial deadlocked Friday
evening, with one juror returning from deliberations in tears and another
shaking his head solemnly.
The eight-woman, four-man jury told Superior Court Judge Steve Balog it
was
unable to make a decision in the case of Rebecca Arnold Dawson, the
Lillington woman accused of castrating a man with her bare hand after a
Christmas party last year.
Balog suspended deliberations but told jurors to return at 10o’clock
Monday
morning to try again. .......
