The translations we have use the singular form but there's a clue in 1:26
where this entity uses the word "our" twice. The translators must have
missed that. We get reminded again in chapter three after the incident at
the tree when this entity remarks that now we are like them. It seems we
learned something that we were not supposed to know. Whatever it is it's
big cuz the reaction was quite extreme. The reason given for this
excessive
anger was not because we were disobedient; the reason given is because of
this knowledge we came upon. What is it?

The numbers do help but they get in the way sometimes because of the way
they divide up certain parts.

Almost like a rancher would do with the intent of harvesting the herd at
some later time.

Yes, even the wording of what is called the ten commandments show traces
of
other gods. Why didn't this particular god just say you better not wor****p
another god? But the first commandment clearly references other gods. My
hunch is that "someone" tried to purge these other gods from the text but
wasn't able to complete the job. What are we missing? Lost books?
