He doesn't really know. Most religions teach that believing in certain
things in specific ways is the only way. The Christian religion is based
on
a belief that a virgin was raped by a god and the offspring was to be a
human sacrifice made to this god to atone for some unspecified
transgression made by some ***** many years before.
What exactly makes an asshole? An asshole is someone who blissfully
condemns
anyone who doesn't believe as they do to some imagined torture chamber for
eternity.
The Christian heaven is where all these asshole spend eternity. I pray to
my
god daily that I won't be sent there after I die. To live forever with a
congregation that so eagerly sells out their fellow humans to save
themselves would for me be the worst form of torture imaginable.
