Nice spoof of an indignant JW... is that you again, Carol? I don't know
anymore when these incoherent attacks come from those claiming they are
JWs.
Do you think people reading my posts ignore the obvious scorn expressed
for
those JWs who abused the faith by speculating on dates, and my repeatedly
stating the Watchtower Society never promoted specific dates for
Armageddon
(as I see you're claiming later on, whether you're posturing or sincere I
have no idea)?
The only individuals offended by my posts, are those who SPECULATED on
dates
the Watchtower Society never said would bring about Armageddon, who I
described in my original post as follows:
"In fact, many individuals latched on to past deadlines for Armageddon
that
passed without even a storm cloud or lightning bolt in most cases. The
last
big date was 1975. Leading up to that year those who wanted a 'ticket to
paradise' quit their jobs and 'pioneered on plastic' as one industrious
sister called it. They maxed out credit cards and personal loans believing
the debt would simply disappeared as the banking institutions crumbled
after
a 'worldwide destruction' in 1975.
"As the late 1970's passed many of these Armageddon speculators declared
bankruptcy, lost their homes and became embittered, many living
impoverished
to this very day."
Sheesh Carol, you think an alias lends you credibility? The only
'disservice' I'm doing is exposing the fact it is individual SPECULATORS
possibly including YOU, and not true Christians, that suffered personal
losses by putting words in the governing body's mouths.
Most people in my congregation in 1975 hoped the year MIGHT end with
Armageddon coinciding with the historical significance of the year (which
was the end to 6,000 years of man's existence from Eden, NOT any
definitive
date of destruction). Nobody I know quit their jobs, lived on credit and
pioneered with the assumption Armageddon would definitely happen. This
mainly happened in the big cities, I guess because 'city folk' are more
materialistic and JW demographics reflects that reality about those who
became JWs.
I don't recall the Watchtower Society ever stating Armageddon would arrive
in 1975 at assemblies during 1974, the year I started studying the Bible
and
regularly attending meetings and assemblies at the age of 17. I was very
active and the only 'speculation' about 1975 was the 'hope' it 'might
coincide with the end of 6,000 years of man's existence on earth.'
However, many JWs figured 1975 would not bring about Armageddon because as
you quoted, nobody knows the day or hour. Therefore, why would God time
Armageddon to coincide with a millennial 'anniversary' of the years since
Eden, particularly when we do not know for sure if our chronology is
completely accurate? (Suppose human error in chronology meant the year of
the end of 6,000 years of man's existence on earth was 1970 and not 1975
for
instance? Ooops?)
Do you have a drinking or drug problem, or is it Parkinson's or reaping a
lifetime's worth of abusing your body after refusing to heed the holy
wisdom
of treating your body as the temple of God's spirit? You're starting to
lose
cohesion in your messages and your mental state is evident. I pity you and
it seems only a miracle can save you.
