Im****tant JW Doctrinal Changes
With all of the hoopla about Witness meeting changes, I feel that we
have been missing a much more im****tant development within Watchtower
teachings. In the January 15 Tower, the Society came out with an
interesting, albeit stupid, statement. They decided that the calling of
new members to the anointed remnant was not ended in 1935. However, they
then went on to say that persons partaking of the emblems at Memorial
would have no more rights than anyone else and would have to obey the
elders. I say this was amazingly stupid because if individuals are
members of the Faithful and Wise Servant class, they are supposed to be
the "channel." However, as Ray Franz has noted,members of the remnant
have never been called together for their opinions or much of anything
else. Consequently the idea of the "Slave" is one of the greatest
theological con jobs going. That being said, I feel the January 15
article was preparatory to what came out in the February 15 Watchtower.
According thereto, the "generation" of Matthew 24:34 is now seen to be
the anointed remnant some of whose members will still be living at the
time of the Great Tribulation.
Now think of what this means. If new partakers announce that they are
part of the remnant, something that can go on and on, then the Governing
Body, and the Society as its representative, has, finally, detached "the
end" from any date. Thus they are really taking the wind out of their
eschatological sails.
Oh yes, they will keep 1914, 1918, and 1919 because their whole
authority structure is based on it. If they were not chosen as Jehovah's
channel in 1919, they have no real reason to exist. But it seems that
much of the tension that has existed among Witnesses concerning "the
end" or "consummation of the system" will cease to exist with the latest
new light. And while, in one way, this will get the organization off the
hook, in another it will weaken their appeal to perspective new
converts.

In my old age, I have come to realise that the Christian life is all
about peace on earth among men of good will. The WS, in such an advanced
attitude, have come to a similar conclusion. No more doctrinal dilemmas,
no more social controversies =96 'que sera, sera', especially in
Bulgaria. Ray Franz left the Watchtower Society 'In Search of Christian
Freedom', but like all the better JWs, he should have waited on Jehovah
to light 'the path of the righteous one'. Let's not look on these
positive developments in a negative light, thinking that the slave needs
our understanding. Anointed members who are now deceased are evidently
leading the organisation from above and the accuracy of scriptural
interpretation will improve dramatically in the next few years due to
this development. We should look forward with great enthusiasm to this
spiritual banquet served in a time of famine among the religions that do
not know Jehovah and will not grasp the skirts of this spiritual Jew
class. The fact that so many new anointed are added to the little but
growing flock remaining on earth can only increase our faith in
Jehovah's one true channel to serve the proper food at the proper time,
even if the well-balanced spiritual meal has been modified to suit more
modern tastes. So, please, let's have no more negativity and be grateful
that we have come into the 21st century with our core values intact, our
theocratic schedules adapted to our demanding lifestyles, and our hearts
infused with love and appreciation for the faithful and discreet slave
who, as always, provide for the needs of the great crowd almost before
they recognise the need for change themselves. This is the insight that
surpasseth all understanding, and the great crowd will no doubt be
thrilled at these latest evidences of the kindness shown by Jehovah to
His witnesses through his faithful and discreet slave class, may God
bless them and grant them peace.
