Wow, way for everyone to ignore the question...
It's simple really, although I don't like the word wish
God wants us to live a happy life !
But that's not your real question is it, because you are wondering then,
Why
all the puni****ng? God is not just Love as most believe, scripture
clearly
shows a Righteous God who cannot stand sin and so sin must be punished. As
most (read all) of us sin then punishment is due. The Jesus issue, Jesus
took all our sins upon Himself (the only one who never sinned) and thus
took
our punishment. Why then do we still seem to live a life full of
punishment, for those who have not accepted His sacrifice you still have
your own punishments to deal with, for those of us who have, well God is
training you as a Father should:
Heb 12:5-8
5 And you have forgotten the exhortation which speaks to you as to sons
<Huios>:
"My Son <Huios>, do not despise the chastening of Yahweh,
Nor be discouraged when you are rebuked by Him;
6 For whom Yahweh loves <agapao> He chastens,
And scourges every Son <Huios> whom He receives."
7 If you endure chastening, God deals with you as with sons <Huios>; for
what Son <Huios> is there whom a father does not chasten?
8 But if you are without chastening, of which all have become partakers,
then you are illegitimate and not sons <Huios>.
Hope this helps.
