The word "theist" was coined as the antonym of "atheist". It is seldom
used 
except in an atheist context. "Deism", which is the Latin form, has
already 
been bagged to mean something slightly different.

Christopher A. Lee appears to be afraid of history. When you look into the

development of his ideas over time, he doesn't like what you see. The
exact 
reasons are still a mystery.

An "atheist" is someone who denies the God of Christianity without
accepting 
another religion. It is not something incapable of believing in God, like
an 
infant or a chimpanzee, it is not someone unexposed to the concept of
Gods, 
like an animist in a primitive tribes (these believe in spirits but
nothing 
that corresponds to the omnipotent God of Christinity), it is not a 
Buddhist. The only point at which the definition breaks down is with a few

of the Ancient Greeks, like Democritus, whom we might want to include as 
"atheists" without perversity.
