• I never joined any organized religion. When I and my siblings were
young, our mother took us to a nearby Presbyterian church, When I was 13,
I learned about Presbyterian doctrine, and I concluded that it did not add
up, so I walked. Subsequently I began reading about the history of
Christianity. I found it appalling as well as galling. In a takeoff from
Will Rogers: Anyone who loves organized religion should never try to find
out how it was made.
