It's an all too common lie that theists use. They are incapable of
understanding that there is a world beyond their religion. Inhabited
by people who aren't Christian. They might be Hindus, Sikhs,
Buddhists, or any of a hundred other religions. Or they might even be
atheists who aren't members of any religion and don't believe in any
of the hundreds of gods.
They attempt to describe the world including people outside their
religion using presumptions that only work inside it.
No wonder they keep getting the real world wrong. And nastily so when
it comes to refusing to grant that the people in it aren't what they
imagine.

That's another of their lies. Nobody "chooses" to believe or
disbelieve. They either do or don't. It's not a conscious choice.
They believe because they were taught to as children, before they
could think for themselves.
Sometimes they lose that belief for all sorts of reasons. In exactly
the same way they lose their Santa Claus belief. Which isn't a choice
either.
Sometimes they were never taught to believe in the first place.
