So god was not content with an Eden set up so that his human creations did

not have this knowledge, then he set up a tree that provided fruit rich in

nootropics or something so that they could eat from it while in their 
innocent pre-sapient state and so change them into a condition where he 
could chastise them to his hearts content.

That's one very, very strange sounding deity, smacks of animal 
experimentation to me. Wonder if Ivan Pavlov was inspired by this story?
