Luke 14:26 "If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and
mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and
his own life also, he cannot be my disciple."
There you have it. You can't hate your neighbor, but you MUST hate
your father, mother, wife, children, bretheren, sisters and, even,
your own life, to be Christian. But not the guy next door. You're
absolutely correct. Vile, filthy, degraded, but correct.

That's the Old Testament you said Jesus fulfilled so you don't have to
follow it any more, so you CAN wor****p false gods, lie, covet, steal,
kill, etc. Which almost ALL Christians do quite well these days, in
fact.

Only if you're a Jew. "New Covenant" and all that crap, remember?
There's nothing in the Bible about picking and choosing the parts you
like. Other than the example of the Nicene Council, and numerous
Christian fathers, Popes and other Christian leaders.
>Yet most Christians IME merrily ignore the OT almost in its entirety.
They claim that they no longer have to obey any part they find
uncomfortable - but the parts they want OTHERS to obey are still in
effect.
