It is a standard dishonesty theists use. 

They replace words and phrases that carry different and more exact
meanings with "believe". 

Like "observation", "falsifiable default pending evidence to the
contrary", "falsifiable conclusion", "logical conclusion" and even
"don't believe it". 

Especially when they themselves have established the meaning of
"believe" by using it in the context of theistic belief.
 
It is deliberately dishonest because it attempts to change the meaning
of what people explain, after they have said it.
