Most of us here just listen to Big Media and the hype about our own
aristocracy. But its never been a democracy. "I think I mite like to
move to Russia, where they take their tyranny straight up, undiluted
with the waters of hypocrisy." A. Linocoln. You can say whatever you
like here, but whatever you say, if its outside the box of group think,
is ignored.

Well yes, there is that. But the more sure cause for economic
catastrophy is the dependance on oil. Whether burning oil and coal
cause Global Warming or not, it will go on. And as the supply of oil
declines, the price will go up, and as that happens the greed of those
who think they have some chance of taking control of some portion of
that supply will motivate them to attempt violent means.

Machiavelli comes to mind:"When a republic [the New World Order], has a
distasteful task [station troops in Iraq to take control of the oil],
it will find a man of flawed character [GW Bush] to do it for them." As
we see, that 'control' has not worked out so well. But if Bush
succeeds, "They will, after the fait accompli, discover his faults
[lots to choose from], and send him away [Bush already bought a ranch
in Paraguay], he taking the guilt for the action away with him, while
they get to enjoy the fruits of the new status quo."

Bush is running out of time. As his failure becomes more evident, the
part his administration played in the sept. 11, 2001 WTC disaster will
be revealed even in Big Media, as it now spreads on the Internet, and
he may even be charged with treason.

But none of this will prevent the economic crisis that will emerge as
the supply of oil to the global market becomes more unreliable with
various factions in various regions fighting over it. The global
republic may wish for some tyrant to take over to restore some order.
Both your compatriot Edw. Gibbon, and Machiavelli understood that the
aristocracies that run republics screw up, failing because of group
think delusions about their own entitlements to grasp the true nature
of the threats facing them.

Republics are an outgrowth of hominid evolution, which kept incompetent
people in the tribal gene pools because they mite carry resistance to
disease. The witches, shamen, and elders did what we now call 'case
management' to see that the children which mite carry robust immune
systems stayed in the gene pools. But now, they have been replaced with
aristocracies who do not actually know the people they are trying to
control, Nor do they understand themselves.

Jared Diamond, in his latest "Collapse", shows how the leadership, when
faced with a declining resource base, actually *increases* exploitation
of the lower classes rather than adapting to sustainable resource
management. Psychological denial. Hence the attempts to debunk global
warming.
