Interesting! I was unaware that the term "Soul" meant "breath" in the
"Old testament" though after reading this in your post I looked into it
and it does seem that the word "Soul" comes from Greek meaning breath.
" The term "Spirit" means
"breath' in Latin which is one of the main languages of the "New
Testament". Could this tell us anything? It is clear that "Breath" is
an im****tant part of the Hatha Yoga practices of many Hindu mystics. If
the body is the "Temple of God" where then does the "Breath" fit into
this temple? The Greeks seem to see the "breath" as an animating force
in life. In the New testament it is noted in Romans 8:11

"But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in
you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your
mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you"

and if we understand "Spirit" to mean breath does this mean their is
more to the "Breath" then some might suggest? Is it the "Breath" that
animates the body or as the doctors would suggest the body that animates
the breath?

What is Jacob's ladder anyway if not the "breath"? The path to
immortality may be simpler then we think.

=============
"The term "SOUL" in the Old Testament simply means "Breath" and did not
mean any immortal spirit that survives death. There was NO belief in
an afterlife, no belief in any resurrection of the dead UNTIL the
Jews"
