Chapter 11

ALONE WITH THE ALONE
- by Sri Darwin Gross

"'There is God,' said the Tibetan,
pointing to the white disk in the great sky.
'Out of God comes the river of light; see it
flowing into the ocean of mercy and love.
You cannot go any closer or you would die,
for God will not let anything of imperfection
approach him.'"
	- STRANGER BY THE RIVER

It is easier to tell someone what God is not, rather than what God is,
for our concept of God can vary like the flowers and birds in the
fields. Paul Twitchell, spiritual giant that he is, has written
enough about the teachings of the Masters that in fact, not another
word need be said about them. He has brought the concept of God
closer to most people because he has shown, through his writings and
lectures, how the individual can avail himself of inner knowledge and
wisdom, something that has not been applied by the priestcraft and
laymen of the world we live in.

For us to have any knowledge of Spirit, the true vehicle through which
the magnificent molecular structure of atoms that is "God" can work,
the individual needs to move out of the state of consciousness that
holds him to the lower realms, the realms below the Soul or fifth
plane.

The question has been raised: "Who created God?" In my book,
"Consciousness, The Key To Life," it states in answer to that
Question: "Man actually did, in his own thoughts. In the early
Christian days, man had to see things happen with his physical eyes.
He had to see the heavens open up...all the bibles, holy books and
other records down through time have written about men in machines
coming out of the skies or heavens, landing, eating, talking, and even
partaking of the local women.

Considering the state of consciousness referred to in these
paragraphs, one can see how the concepts and traditions of accumulated
lives past can indeed hold one to the so-called security of the lower
planes. It may take some prodding and poking to bring one's self to
the point of wanting to move beyond these states of consciousness.
But once Soul is awakened to the wonders It has left behind in Its
dreamless sleep, It will hunger to shake Itself loose from the
confines of illusion and reawaken and recognize the true home from
whence It came, the Soul Plane.

It is through the love bond established between the Master and the
student that one moves into the Soul Plane and the God-conscious
state. Then the knowledge that you need, of the higher worlds, this
world of yourself, will always be at your disposal.

Patience is a must. And working, one at a time, on the five passions
of the mind: Lust, Anger, Greed, Vanity and Attachment. Many try to
split their attention by trying to do more than one thing at a time,
but this is where feelings of inadequacy, doubt and discomfort come
into play. One wonders if it is possible to receive love from anyone
or anything, let alone give it out. But if we persist, if we care
enough to stretch ourselves, to put out the initiative to expand our
consciousness, our awareness, it will prove, in time, to be its
greatest reward.

The journey into the far country lies within you. It is as familiar
to you in Soul as your physical home is, the building and street where
you work, the comer drugstore or market. Accompanied by the Spiritual
Master, you can visit continents and islands, cities and deserts,
great spiritual giants and huge, beautiful astral Beings going about
their business for God. Yet when you return from your journey and go
to share its wonders with others, it is unlikely they will believe
you. But what matters most? You saw--you marveled--you know!

This is how it is when one reaches the God-conscious state. There are
things to say, marvels to tell about but in no way can you convey
this. The beauty of the far country cannot be compared with anything
in these lower worlds.

In the dream state at night, whether one realizes it or not,
Acrobatics of Soul is the mode of travel from one plane to another.
Some dream experiences will be more vivid than others, some of them
glimpses of past lives cropping up again because a similar experience
needs to be learned or relearned and understood so that it does not
need to be repeated

One time when I had taken a tour of the city of Zurich, the bus driver
told us that there was no unemployment or beggars there. Later as I
walked around I noticed this too. It has to do with the state of
consciousness of the people there. They accept responsibility for
themselves and the whole area or community benefits from this.

Negative experiences that come occasionally with the awakening of Soul
are sometimes called the Dark Night of Soul. To some this may be a
great burden where their whole world seems to explode around them,
leaving them without all they held im****tant to their lives. Others
have little or no difficulty at all. But those going through the Dark
Night of Soul are not experiencing karma but rather experiences that
ultimately move them out of and above obstacles they have need of
removing. And once you reach the Light, all the knowledge that you
have ever heard about is experienced, the spiritual freedom obtained
unexplainable.

It is the inner knowledge that directs us to the right person or the
right place when we are unsure of our whereabouts. It is the
initiative attribute that tells us a phone call is forthcoming or a
letter. It is the only thing you can take with you, along with the
expansion of your consciousness. By letting go of anything that is
frightening or disturbing, the individual becomes detached from the
situation, living from moment to moment, not looking for a solution or
for something to happen, but holding an expectancy that all will work
out for the good of all. It is in this way that Spirit works.

All knowledge of life exists within each and every individual. By
tapping that source and allowing Spirit to guide him through the Inter
Master, the individual who takes the time to seek IT out and become
part of IT, will find that nothing is held back

By allowing Spirit to flow through him and not try to guide it, the
student will know every step he takes is the right one. When
something appears to go wrong, he will stand back and say "Okay!" -not
expressing anything for or against the situation. By doing this, he
will grow in consciousness very quickly by letting go of the thought
and moving along to the next point or thought.

This divine love which sustains all life can be seen as Light and
heard as Sound. Once you have these twin aspects of Spirit, of God,
you know that you have been home and there is nothing you will need
from that moment on. Not everyone will take the time to develop these
qualities or attributes but for those that do, they have something
very few others have. It requires time and patience, and the desire
to return to that home Soul has known before Its training began in the
lower worlds.

Under the tutelage of the Spiritual Master, the student moves from the
first levels of heaven ever upward into the pure positive God Worlds.
Joy and bliss are apart of these higher planes but balance must always
be maintained to keep from toppling too far to the left or right.
Responsibility also comes with each step on the spiritual ladder, and
the load will be shared by the conscientious student who gratefully
accepts the op****tunity, not only to serve God and Spirit, but his
fellow man as well. For by so doing, he expands his state of
consciousness even more. Once he has his spiritual legs firmly
grounded, there is no one who can stop him. He becomes the Master of
his universe, working for the good of the whole at all times. Yet
continuing to live in the lower worlds, having what is needed for his
survival here as well as in Soul.

By imagining and visualizing the experience Paul wrote about in
"Stranger By The River," we can place our attention upon the spectacle
of God as IT is.

This can be done during a contemplative period, sitting in silence,
eyes closed, attention gently and sweetly placed on the spiritual eye
in between the brows, and using the easy way technique.

The purpose of the contemplative exercise is to establish that inner
connection between the student and Spirit In time it becomes the most
im****tant moment of the individual's day, that time set aside for
communion with yourself and the divine source of your being. It may
begin as five minutes a day, grow to ten or more, and up to thirty
minutes a day eventually. It should not become a drag or a duty for
the sake of duty, nor should one contemplate while angry or upset.
Look upon it as something special you are giving to yourself because
you are a spark of the divine in Soul, and now you know it,
acknowledge and appreciate it as never before.

The time must come when you are Alone with the Alone. When the
phenomena of the lower worlds no longer cross and crisscross your
mental screen, when the light that brings knowledge merges with the
sound that can be heard when the outer ears are closed off, look not
for anything or anyone except the Spiritual Master who may appear as a
blue star, a blue or white globe of light. This presence is spiritual
protection and guidance as is needed by you.

You are never alone, nor is your space ever violated by the true
Masters unless you have invited them to enter it. Their purpose is to
assist you and all Souls seeking to reawaken to their destiny and
purpose as potential co-workers with God. But the choice is always
yours alone to make.
