Last night movie legend Charlton Heston died at the age of 84 in his
Beverly Hill home. Heston will best be remembered as
Ben Hur, The Omega Man, Moses and El Cid, ****traying historical and
fictitious characters often larger than life. But in real life, too,
Charlton Heston was known as a fearless fighter for justice and
constitutional rights. In the 1960's Heston was one of the few leading
white actors to openly participate in civil rights (for black
Americans) activities. And during the 1990's he once more put himself
into the frontline as public spokesperson and strong advocate for 2nd
Amendment rights..
Indeed, in many ways Charlton Heston will be remembered as a figure
larger than life - a true patriot and fighter for justice .
RIP, Charlton, may you never be forgotten.
