Bill, I'm not asking you or anyone else, for that matter, to "dive off
a bridge." I'm just probing for insights and dialogue on this very
interesting subject. It might be prudent, though, to go look over the
edge of the bridge and see how deep the water is, just in case you
happen to be blown over the edge or somehow fall into the water below.

Are you talking about your "faith" and "belief" in Darwinian
Evolution? To me, Faith in Evolution is harder to justify than faith
in a cosmic consciousness that managed the creation of everything that
we perceive. Just how should one rationalize the FLASH appearance of
the complex life forms about 3 billion years ago?

During the initial phase there was nothing but one celled life that
appeared immediately after the earth cooled down enough to have liquid
water standing in pools on the surface. These were the only life forms
until the sky cleared up enough to allow sunlight to reach the earth,
then rudimentary plant life SPRANG into existence. The plant life then
photosynthesized CO2, releasing atmospheric oxygen for animals to
breathe and the plant life also provided nourishment for animals. With
these two basic requirements met, ZINGO, all the animal phyla that
exist today popped into existence. Chance and random mutations just
COULD NOT have done this so quickly, and even if they could, why have
chance and random mutations not developed any new phyla since that
time? Just one very rapid spurt of phyla origination, then nothing for
the next 3 billion years. Doesn't figure???

Did the Trilobites have ancestors? What did they evolve from?

For anyone to go along with the theory of evolution takes a lot of
faith, and an eager willingness to believe in that which can never be
empirically proven. I'll put my faith and belief in a cosmic
consciousness that exists at the Planck level, and functions
throughout the multiverse in a manner somewhat like the synapses of a
human brain...but infinitely more complex and powerful. In the common
vernacular, that cosmic consciousness is called God.

Oh, one more question...How can we explain how the writers of the
Bible got the sequence of events for life development in the right
order? These ancient writers certainly didn't have the scientific
knowledge that water dwelling life forms had to precede plants, which
had to precede animals. Did they just, by pure chance, guess and get
it right, or was there some help from the cosmic consciousness called
God?
