the thick of party conflict in 1800, Thomas Jefferson wrote in a
private
letter, "I have sworn upon the altar of God eternal hostility against
every
form of tyranny over the mind of man." This powerful advocate of liberty
was
born in 1743 in Albemarle County, Virginia
Thomas Jefferson saw nothing wrong with both the idea and practice of
Slavery.
To my way of thinking Slavery was a crime against Humanity and a sin
against
God.
I suppose that would make me a sworn enemy of Thomas Jefferson and his
beliefs.
