I see. You have compassion for the child.  Where did you learn
compassion? Is that something you invented, or someone else?

Did you have to learn compassion?  Did you have to invent it?  Did dogs
have 
to go to Sunday School to learn to protect their young?  Sympathy, 
compassion etc. are natural emotions.  Not having such feelings is 
considered to be a symptom of mental illness.
I noticed you wisely avoided the point of my sarcastic remark.  Here it
is: 
Why would you consider the Bible to be a good source for learning how to 
act?  If you have to pick what parts should be followed, would you not
have 
to know already what was moral?
