* One of my key mentors in earlier years was 'Mr. Evangelical' John
Stott. See here for an article about him:
http://jmm.aaa.net.au/articles/19726.htm
; my personal reflections on
this great man are here:
http://rowlandcroucher.blogspot.com/2007/05/23-mentors-2-john-stott.html
* My favorite all-time preacher? John Claypool
(http://jmm.aaa.net.au/articles/19659.htm
)
* http://www.sacredspace.ie/
is, in the view of many people, the best
online daily prayer site.

* Madeleine, the abducted 4-year-old is now the subject of a world-wide
online campaign to help find her. Madeleine has a distinctive right eye,
where the pupil runs into the blue-green iris which can be clearly seen
in the two right hand photos. More... http://www.righteye.co.uk/
* Here's a book I wished I'd written -
http://jmm.aaa.net.au/articles/19626.htm
* A couple of weeks ago I participated in the launch of a 'Megachurch
Watch' website (http://megachurchwatch.org/
). My notes:
http://jmm.aaa.net.au/articles/19701.htm
. And an excellent book on
'prophets and megachurches' ('Where have all the prophets gone? To
megachurches every one...' ) - http://jmm.aaa.net.au/articles/19588.htm
And now for those who like stats/trivia:
* During May there were more than 116163 unique visitors to the John
Mark Ministries website (about 5000 per day); they made 153572 visits;
viewed 230779 pages which translates into 1,955,389 hits.
* The busiest day? A Sunday (which is usually the quietest day of the
week). If you put 'Mothers Day sermon' into Google one of my wife Jan's
is #1 on the list; another is # 15 - out of 1,230,000. 8,000 people
(pastors?) looked at that sermon in the 24 hours before Mothers' Day!
16,000 altogether visited both sermons. (Let's hope they were
legitimately busy on the Lord's business to leave their preparation so
late!).
* Someone - I don't know him - has written a Wikipedia article about me
(and I don't know what to think about that):

FINALLY: It's normal to apologize if someone sends the same material to
the same people twice. I'm not: this is too serious.
The $500,000 the Commonwealth of Australia spent to bring David Hicks
home from Guantanamo Bay is 'peanuts' compared to the millions of
taxpayers' dollars wasted on prosecuting an innocent woman, Dawn Rowan.
See http://dawnrowansaga.blogspot.com/
.
She won the case against the South Australian and Commonwealth
Governments - and now they're pursuing her for costs, which will
bankrupt her. And she's been declared innocent throughout these 21 years!
See also the channel 7 Today Tonight video (on the front page of
http://jmm.aaa.net.au).
(Dawn attends the East Doncaster Baptist Church in Melbourne).
===>>> We Australians have just one month to threaten/cajole/plead with
our local Federal members of parliament in this election-year to have
this whole action dropped. Ask your parliamentarian to work on 'Hons'
Mal Brough and Phillip Ruddock. They have the power to act on this; all
they need is the will! Let's each do something to help! Thanks so much.
Thanks for your prayers for John Mark Ministries. There are only three
of us (the others - Les Scarborough in NSW and Tim Dyer in Tasmania) but
we are very busy with consultations, seminars, mentoring, counselling
and writing, serving churches and their leaders of all denominations.
This is a monthly 'email-out': let me know if you'd like to be added to
this list or taken off it.
